Role Overview Orenda Finance builds regulated Banking-as-a-Service infrastructure powering accounts, cards, payments, onboarding, transaction monitoring, and operational tooling across multiple financial programs. We’re hiring a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to help scale our AWS serverless platform and build reliable financial systems used across multiple banking and compliance providers. What You’ll Do · Build and maintain TypeScript AWS Lambda services · Work across payments, accounts, cards, onboarding, beneficiaries, and transaction flows · Integrate with banking, KYC, card, and compliance providers · Extend Terraform infrastructure modules across our multi-region AWS environment · Write well-tested, production-ready code within a DDD + Hexagonal Architecture setup · Collaborate closely with senior engineers through reviews and implementation guidance Our Stack · TypeScript · AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, IAM · Terraform + Terraform Cloud · TurboRepo monorepo · Jest · Domain-Driven Design (DDD) What We’re Looking For · 5+ years backend engineering experience · Strong TypeScript experience (or strong Go/Java/C# background with ability to work fluently in TS) · Production AWS serverless experience · Comfortable reading and extending Terraform infrastructure · Strong understanding of APIs, async systems, testing, and software fundamentals · Able to independently deliver tickets and communicate clearly Nice to Have · Fintech, payments, or regulated-industry experience · Experience with monorepos, CI/CD pipelines, or multi-tenant SaaS systems If you enjoy solving complex backend problems and building modern financial infrastructure at scale, we’d love to hear from you.
