About The Role We are seeking a skilled Mobile Developer specializing in React Native and Expo to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, developing, and maintaining our new digital platform for ALDI SÜD. Your primary responsibility will be to create high-performance, scalable, and maintainable mobile applications for both Android and iOS platforms from the ground up. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, UX designers, backend developers, DevOps engineers, and QA specialists, to deliver seamless and engaging digital experiences for our customers. This position offers the opportunity to influence the architecture of our mobile solutions, implement modern development standards, and utilize innovative AI-powered tools to enhance code quality and developer productivity. The role requires ownership of the entire engineering lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment and ongoing optimization, ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in mobile application development using React Native and Expo, preferably within digital platforms or technology-driven growth companies. A strong understanding of modern software architecture principles, clean code practices, API design, testing methodologies, and performance optimization is essential. Experience working within agile teams and collaborating with cross-functional product teams is highly desirable. Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes, as well as cloud platforms like Azure, will be advantageous. A solid grasp of DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and system monitoring, is important. The candidate should demonstrate a passion for building innovative digital products, possess a high degree of self-motivation, and exhibit entrepreneurial thinking. Excellent communication skills in both German and English, along with a team-oriented mindset, are required. Responsibilities Actively contribute to the development and architecture of the new digital platform for ALDI SÜD, creating mobile applications for Android and iOS from scratch.Develop performant, scalable, and maintainable mobile apps using React Native and Expo frameworks.Collaborate closely with product owners, UX/UI designers, backend teams, DevOps, and QA to deliver high-quality digital solutions.Take ownership of the entire engineering process, including technical conception, development, testing, deployment, and operational support.Ensure high software quality through adherence to modern development standards, automated testing, and rigorous code reviews.Continuously enhance the architecture of mobile applications, supporting scalability, performance, and ease of maintenance.Analyze app performance and stability, implementing ongoing improvements to optimize user experience.Propose and implement innovative ideas to improve user engagement, development workflows, and technical architecture.Leverage AI-powered tools for code quality enhancement, testing automation, documentation, and developer productivity.Maintain ownership of your solutions and assist team members in resolving technical challenges efficiently.Utilize your technical expertise in React Native, Expo, REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure Cloud to deliver robust applications.
