Senior Frontend Developer

Role Overview Job Title: Senior Frontend Developer Department: Technology Reports to: Director of Technology We are looking for an experienced Senior Frontend Developer to work on our Shopify storefront, with deep hands-on experience in Shopify Liquid, the Storefront API, and custom app development. Role & Responsibilties Review, clean up, and help establish sound structure and practices for our Shopify codebaseMaintain and extend our Shopify storefront, including custom themes, templates, and sections built with LiquidBuild and maintain custom Shopify apps, functions, and extensionsBuild responsive, high-performance interfaces using JavaScript, React, and Tailwind CSSIntegrate with Shopify APIs, GraphQL, and REST endpoints to power custom shopping experiencesDevelop reusable components and front-end libraries, contributing to our design systemTranslate UI/UX designs and wireframes into high-quality, production-ready codeOptimize applications for speed, scalability, web performance, and accessibilityCollaborate with backend developers to integrate APIs and servicesWrite clear technical documentation and communicate progress to technical and non-technical stakeholdersTroubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex front-end issues Person Profile Skills Strong communication skills, oral and written, including writing technical documentation and presenting to technical and non-technical stakeholdersExcellent organizational and problem-solving skillsComfortable working independently and making sound technical judgment calls Essential Experience Senior-level development experience with frontend frameworks including Liquid, JavaScript, React, Tailwind CSS, GraphQL, REST, and GitStrong understanding of Shopify development, including Themes, APIs, Apps, Functions, and Extensions3-5 years of experience working in eCommerceExperience working with JIRA/Confluence or other ticket management systemsThorough knowledge of web performance, web accessibility, querying data, API request handling, component structure, and design systems Desired Experience Experience with e-commerce platforms and best practices beyond ShopifyKnowledge of build tools and bundlers (Webpack, Vite, etc.)Experience with design tools such as Figma or Adobe XDExperience with Shopify Plus
