About The Role We are seeking a DevOps Engineer (Mensch) to join our team in a full-time capacity, either remotely within Germany or on-site in Feldkirchen near Munich. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, deploying, and maintaining our platform infrastructure to ensure its high availability, security, and scalability. You will work on transforming concepts into reliable production environments, supporting complex enterprise and government systems. Your responsibilities will include managing installations, migrations, and system expansions, as well as troubleshooting issues across Linux, containerization, networking, and platform layers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for automating processes, developing resilient architectures, and exploring innovative solutions such as GPU workloads and AI-related infrastructure. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence the backbone of digital public services and work on cutting-edge technology in a meaningful context. Qualifications The ideal candidate should possess several years of experience in platform or infrastructure operations, particularly within on-premises, private cloud, or regulated environments. Proficiency in Linux is essential, with the ability to navigate the command line and troubleshoot effectively. Hands-on experience with Docker in production settings and a solid understanding of Kubernetes for container orchestration are required. Candidates should be familiar with architectural principles such as scalability, resilience, and security, and be capable of translating these into practical solutions. An interest or initial experience with AI-related infrastructure, including GPU workloads and model deployment, is highly desirable. Good communication skills in German (minimum C1 level) and English (minimum B2 level) are necessary to collaborate effectively within the team and with stakeholders. The role requires a proactive mindset, curiosity about complex technical topics, and a willingness to take responsibility for your solutions. Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for bringing systems from conceptual design into operational environments, ensuring their stability and security. You will oversee installations, migrations, and system expansions within demanding enterprise and government contexts. Troubleshooting will be a core activity, requiring you to analyze issues across Linux, container environments, networks, and platforms, and develop long-term solutions that enhance operational stability. You will contribute to the evolution of our platform architecture by integrating containerization, orchestration, monitoring, and security practices into cohesive, scalable solutions. Automation is key; you will design and implement deployment pipelines and stability mechanisms to improve reliability and efficiency. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to explore and influence AI-related infrastructure, such as GPU workloads and runtime environments, shaping how these advanced workloads are operated within our systems.
