About The Role We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our team in a full-time capacity, either remotely within Germany or on-site in Feldkirchen near Munich. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, security, and scalability of our digital platforms used by public authorities. As a DevOps Engineer at FJD, you will be responsible for transforming concepts into operational systems, managing complex deployments, and maintaining high availability environments. Your expertise will help us build resilient infrastructure that supports mission-critical applications, including emerging areas such as AI and GPU workloads. You will collaborate closely with development teams, system administrators, and security specialists to optimize our platform architecture and automate deployment processes, ensuring continuous improvement and innovation. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in platform or infrastructure operations, preferably in on-premises, private cloud, or regulated environments. You should be comfortable working with Linux systems, possessing strong command-line skills and a structured problem-solving approach. Hands-on experience with Docker in production environments is essential, along with a solid understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration. Familiarity with architecture principles such as scalability, resilience, and security is important, as is an interest in AI-related infrastructure, including GPU workloads and container deployments. Proficiency in both German (minimum C1) and English (minimum B2) is required to facilitate effective communication within our international team. Responsibilities In this role, you will oversee the migration, installation, and expansion of our platforms within complex enterprise and government settings, ensuring seamless transition from concept to live operation. You will troubleshoot issues across Linux, containers, networks, and platforms, conducting root cause analysis and developing long-term solutions. Your work will involve enhancing our platform architecture by integrating containerization, orchestration, monitoring, and security into cohesive, scalable solutions. Automation is a core aspect of your responsibilities; you will design and implement deployment pipelines and stability mechanisms to improve system reliability and efficiency. Additionally, you will explore and contribute to AI infrastructure projects, such as GPU workloads and model deployment, shaping how these advanced technologies are integrated into our platforms. Continuous improvement and proactive problem prevention will be key aspects of your daily work, ensuring our systems remain resilient and secure.
