SQL Query Specialist / Data & Query Developer Location: Netherlands - Hybrid Hours: 32-38 hours per week Contract: Freelance / ZZP possible Start: ASAP Duration: 15 months We are looking for an experienced SQL Query Specialist / Data & Query Developer to support a major organisation within the Dutch financial services sector. You will join a data-focused team responsible for maintaining and developing business-critical information products, reporting and data deliveries. The role is particularly focused on analysing existing data solutions and rebuilding or translating them into a new data landscape. The Role As a Data & Query Developer, you will: Analyse existing reports, data deliveries and information products. Develop, optimise and maintain complex SQL queries. Translate existing data solutions into a new platform and data environment. Work with relational databases and complex data models. Improve query performance and overall data quality. Ensure solutions are maintainable, accurate and scalable. Work closely with business and technical stakeholders to understand data requirements. Explain complex technical and data-related topics in a clear and practical way. What We're Looking For 5+ years of professional SQL experience. Strong experience developing and optimising complex SQL queries. Experience with relational databases and data modelling. Knowledge of query optimisation and performance tuning. Previous experience within financial services in a similar data-focused role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. A pragmatic and responsible working style. Able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Completed HBO-level education or equivalent professional experience. Nice to Have Experience within pensions, insurance or financial data. Experience working with large-scale information products or regulatory reporting environments. Knowledge of Festina or similar pension/data platforms. Working Arrangement During the initial onboarding period, you will be expected to work primarily on-site. After onboarding, the position becomes hybrid with approximately 2 days per week in the office. This is a strong opportunity for an experienced SQL specialist who enjoys solving complex data problems and working on high-impact systems within a large financial organisation.
