THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Sr.
Backend Developer who can own complex, high-stakes systems end to end.
This isn’t a maintenance role — you’ll be building new infrastructure, integrating operators, strengthening our RNG compliance posture, and contributing to the backend systems that power our AI character ecosystem across both Virtual One and Sovrun Studios.
What You’ll Work On
Game Server & Backend Infrastructure – Design, develop, and maintain highly available, low-latency backend systems powering real-time virtual sports and game events across multiple operators.Real-Time & On-Demand Gaming – Build event-driven systems that handle bet-to-game execution, concurrency, state management, result processing, and real-time delivery.RNG & Regulatory Compliance – Develop systems that support RNG certification, audit logging, game result tracking, and compliance with applicable iGaming standards.Security & Access Control – Build secure authentication, authorization, API, session, and tenant-isolation systems for a regulated gaming environment.Operator Integrations – Develop APIs and integration infrastructure for new operators, including wallet/fund transfers, player sessions, game launches, reporting, sandbox environments, and white-label configurations.Analytics & Reporting – Build reliable data pipelines and reporting systems for game outcomes, betting activity, RTP performance, settlements, analytics, and regulatory audits.AI Character & Influencer Backend – Support backend systems for AI-powered virtual characters, including personality/state management, LLM integrations, dynamic commentary, and AI-generated content pipelines.Performance & Reliability – Monitor and optimize system performance, design for fault tolerance and scalability, and participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
4+ years of backend development experience, preferably with production-grade, high-availability systems
Strong experience in Node.js, Python, Go, or similar backend languages
Experience with real-time or event-driven systems
Knowledge of security, databases, logging, audit, and compliance
Experience with iGaming/RNG or regulated environments is a plus
Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, lean team
Bonus: Experience with LLMs/AI, crypto payments, or blockchain/on-chain systems
