Our partner is looking for a Senior Back-End Developer - Backbase based in Canada.
This is a fully remote opportunity for a senior backend engineer specializing in the integration and extension of a digital banking platform.
You will build scalable, secure, and maintainable backend solutions that address complex business challenges in financial services.
The role combines hands-on software development with client-facing consulting and close collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Accountabilities
Backend Development and Platform Integration: Design, develop, integrate, and extend digital banking solutions while applying strong engineering practices to deliver reliable, scalable, and maintainable backend systems.Technical Architecture: Translate complex business requirements into practical technical architectures and contribute to solutions involving microservices, distributed systems, SaaS platforms, and service-oriented architectures.Client Collaboration: Work directly with clients in a consultative and professional capacity to understand business challenges, communicate technical solutions, and ensure successful delivery of project outcomes.Cross-Functional Delivery: Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to build compelling products and services that address real business needs.Quality and Testing: Write clean, testable code and contribute to unit testing, Test Driven Development, continuous integration, peer code reviews, and other practices that maintain high engineering standards.Agile Execution: Apply Agile methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban to manage multiple projects and priorities while helping teams improve delivery effectiveness and collaboration.Problem Solving and Innovation: Investigate complex technical and business challenges, proactively identify solutions, and contribute to the continuous improvement of development practices, products, and client outcomes.
Requirements
Backbase Experience: At least 2 years of hands-on commercial experience integrating, extending, or implementing the Backbase Digital Banking Platform in production environments, with the ability to describe a commercial project and your personal contributions.Java and Spring: At least 5 years of production-level experience with Java, Spring, and related extensions such as Spring MVC, Spring Boot, and Spring Security.Backend Technologies: Strong experience with SOAP and RESTful web services, XML, JSON, RAML, microservices architectures, and enterprise integration patterns, including frameworks such as Apache Camel.Distributed and Cloud Systems: Experience developing large-scale distributed systems and working with SaaS platforms or service-oriented architectures, together with cloud and container technologies such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Docker, or Kubernetes.Testing and Engineering Practices: Experience with JUnit-based unit testing, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and source control technologies such as Git and Subversion.Application Infrastructure: Familiarity with enterprise application servers such as Tomcat, WebSphere, WebLogic, or JBoss, as well as systems and applications that manage sensitive information.Industry and Professional Services Experience: Background in financial services or professional services, with experience working in an agency or consulting environment where client interaction and consultative delivery are important.Technical Education: A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field is required.Communication and Collaboration: Strong analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, participate in peer code reviews, and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Professional Mindset: A proactive, engaged, adaptable approach to work, combined with a passion for technology, a commitment to clean and maintainable code, and the ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly.Location and Work Arrangement: This is a 100% remote, full-time opportunity for candidates based in the Americas.

Benefits
Compensation: CAD $90,000–$130,000 annually for Canadian employees, with an equivalent hourly contractor rate for eligible candidates outside Canada.
