# Senior/Staff Backend Engineer
## About the Role
Nexthink is looking for a complex technical problems, collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, and Architecture teams, and influencing technology and engineering practices.
You will **Senior/Staff Backend Engineer** with strong **Java** expertise and a passion for building scalable, resilient distributed systems.
You will help design, build, test, and deliver large-scale cloud-native services that process billions of events while contributing to the evolution of Nexthink’s data platform and digital employee experience technology.
This role is suited to an experienced backend engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, and Architecture teams, and influencing technology and engineering practices.
You will contribute to product and technology roadmaps while helping improve system reliability, security, quality, scalability, and performance in an agile environment.
## Key Responsibilities
- Implement, test, deliver, and streamline Nexthink’s **data platform** and accelerate data onboarding.
- Design, build, and deliver large-scale, resilient, and scalable distributed services processing billions of events.
- Collaborate proactively with Product Management and Engineering stakeholders in a fast-paced, iterative environment.
- Work with architects to design and deliver scalable software solutions.
- Participate actively in the technology roadmap.
- Advocate for improvements in product quality, security, performance, and engineering practices.
- Promote software development best practices and improve team efficiency.
- Ship complex features and product improvements.
- Handle **L3 support** requests together with the engineering team.

## Required Qualifications
- **10+ years of experience as a Java Developer in SaaS projects.**
- Strong experience with **microservices frameworks**.

- Experience with **unit, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) testing**.
- Professional-level **English**, spoken and written.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
