Job Description:
We are looking for a Software Engineer – Backend to join our engineering team and help build and operate secure backend services for an enterprise-search platform.
The role provides an opportunity to work on backend services involving search APIs, identity and access-control services, enterprise data integrations, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure and security.
Responsibilities:
• Build, test, deploy and maintain backend services, primarily using Go, with occasional Python.
• Develop secure APIs and services for search, user identity, permissions and data synchronization.
• Integrate backend services with AWS services including OpenSearch, DynamoDB and S3.
• Integrate with external APIs and enterprise data sources.
• Improve service reliability, performance, logging, monitoring and operational readiness.
• Write unit and integration tests.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure and Security teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backend and production issues.
Requirements:
• Around 1+ year of software engineering or backend development experience, or strong equivalent practical experience.
• Working knowledge of Go or Python, with an interest in becoming proficient in Go.
• Understanding of backend fundamentals including APIs, databases, data structures, algorithms, concurrency and debugging.
• Experience with DynamoDB or another NoSQL/key-value database.
• Familiarity with event queues or asynchronous processing.
• Exposure to AWS cloud services.
• Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes, ideally EKS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience writing unit and integration tests.
• Good problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong ownership and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
