SOFTWARE DEVELOPER C++ & C# | MUNICH 24-Month Secure ANÜ Engagement — Up to €100,000 p.a. — 60% Home Office — 2 Positions THE ROLE Most C# work in Germany is line-of-business applications — CRUD screens, internal tooling, someone else's database. This is device and system software: the code that runs on the instruments themselves, in a company whose products are used to test and secure the communications infrastructure other companies depend on. You would implement device and system software in C++ and C#, take requirements through analysis and conceptualisation yourself rather than receiving finished tickets, and integrate what you build into existing systems that are already in the field. Two positions are open, so this is a team being grown rather than a gap being filled. YOU WILL Implement device and system software in C++ and C# — the software that runs on the products, not the software that reports on themTake requirements from analysis through to conceptualisation for software components, working out what needs building rather than being handed a specificationIntegrate new software components into existing software systems already deployed with customersWrite automated component and system tests as part of delivery, so correctness is proven rather than assumedWork inside an established agile team with Jira, alongside engineers who know the hardware as well as the code ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS Completed degree in computer science or a comparable field — this one is checked, not assumedExcellent object-oriented development in C#, and ideally C++ alongside it. C# leads here; strong C# with credible C++ is in scopeSolid working knowledge of design patterns, applied on real systems rather than recognised from a bookPostgreSQL — you have designed against it and queried it, not just connected to itExperience delivering inside an agile software team, ideally with JiraGood German — this is a German engineering environment and the working language reflects thatCitizenship of an EU member state or an allied nation. This position is subject to export control regulations, so it is a hard requirement rather than a preference ADVANTAGEOUS Knowledge of mobile communication protocols — genuinely useful here rather than a nice line on a CVBackground in test and measurement, secure communications, broadcast or another instrumentation-led environmentExperience where the software ships on a device and cannot be patched weekly, so quality is designed inAutomated test frameworks at component and system level WHY THIS ONE Two positions on the same requisition, which is unusual — it means budget is signed off for a pair and there is no single-seat bottleneck holding it up. 60% home office on embedded-adjacent work is rare. Device and system software normally means the lab, five days a week. Here it is two days on site in Munich and the rest wherever you work best. And the C# is real.
