About the Programme One of the clients that we are working with is an investment banking division, which is part of a world's largest AAArated Japanese banking groups, with more than 60000 employees and $2 trillion in total assets. This client delivers a comprehensive suite of corporate and investment banking services, including equity and bond underwriting, M&A advisory, and debt capital markets. With one of the most extensive customer bases in Japan and a broad international network spanning key financial and business centres across the Americas, EMEA, and Asia, this client serves leading corporations, financial institutions, and state-owned entities on global scale. Our client’s team forms a core part of the Global Risk division, responsible for the development and oversight of risk technology solutions spanning market and credit risk. The team currently comprises several Java Developers dedicated to building and maintaining toolkits that interface with ActivePivot – an in-memory aggregation engine. The team’s data infrastructure has historically been underpinned by MongoDB and currently, the division is undergoing a strategic migration towards Snowflake as their primary data platform. Roles and Responsibilities The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, enhancement, and extension of existing Java-based functionalities, whilst also contributing to the design and development of new modules and features from the ground up. In addition, the role will involve leading the implementation of a new Snowflake-powered risk reporting platform, including the architecture and development of robust data extraction and transformation services. The candidate will further be expected to over see the seamless integration of the new reporting platform within the organisation’s existing application ecosystem. Key Skills Necessary • 7-9 years of hands-on experience in back-end Java development • Strong understanding of working design patterns and their practical application • Demonstrable experience working on enterprise-level applications and large-scale distributed systems • Proficiency in Java Message Service (JMS) technologies, such as ActiveMQ and RabbitMQ • Solid working knowledge of Spring Framework Nice to have • Prior experience working within the financial markets • Familiarity with Snowflake as a cloud platform • Exposure to Apache Spark for building ETL pipelines • Experience developing high-throughput applications where performance optimisation is business-critical Next steps This is an excellent opportunity to establish yourself within a rapidly expanding consultancy firm working on longterm front-office/risk projects for world renowned investment banks.
