About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer with a strong foundation in cloud infrastructure, automation, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD), with specific expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role is ideal for an experienced cloud engineer who excels at designing scalable, secure, and reliable infrastructure, automating operational processes, and collaborating closely with software development teams to streamline workflows. The successful candidate will work with cutting-edge technologies including Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and various CI/CD tools, leveraging core GCP services such as GKE, Cloud Build, Cloud Run, and VPC Networks. The DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, security, and efficiency of our cloud environments while championing best practices in security and operational excellence. Qualifications 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)Deep expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) core services such as GKE, Cloud Run, VPC, Compute Engine, and Cloud SQLProficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, primarily TerraformStrong background in containerization and orchestration using Docker and KubernetesExperience building, maintaining, and optimizing CI/CD pipelinesSolid understanding of cloud networking concepts including DNS, load balancing, and firewallsLinux/Unix administration skillsScripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or Go for automationStrong problem-solving skills with a focus on operational excellenceExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work effectively in fast-paced, agile environmentsPreferred certifications such as GCP Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Professional Cloud Security EngineerExperience with other cloud providers (AWS, Azure) and managing AI/ML infrastructure on GCP is a plus Responsibilities Design, build, scale, and maintain secure and robust infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)Develop, deploy, and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to automate infrastructure provisioningCreate and maintain CI/CD pipelines utilizing Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, or similar tools to facilitate seamless automated deploymentsManage containerized applications and orchestrate clusters using Docker and Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE)Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health, performance, and high availabilityCollaborate with software engineering teams to optimize application performance, reliability, and architecture designEnforce cloud security best practices, including IAM policies and compliance standardsTroubleshoot infrastructure and production issues, participate in incident response, and conduct root cause analysisStay current with emerging DevOps practices and new GCP features to continuously improve infrastructure and workflows Benefits Competitive salary range of $105,000 - $140,000+ (negotiable based on experience and certifications)Flexible work location: Schenectady, New York, or 100% remote for the right candidateFree health insurance options for all employees (single, two-party, and family coverage)401(k) Safe Harbor retirement planGenerous paid time off, including maternity and paternity leaveRevenue sharing incentive programsCertification reimbursement and bounty programs to support professional developmentWork hours typically from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM EST, with flexibility for occasional late nights during critical project deadlinesBackground checks required due to security-sensitive client engagements Equal Opportunity Jahnel Group is an equal opportunity employer.
