About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer (C#/.Net) to join our dynamic team at our Berlin location, with hybrid working options available. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing innovative financial solutions that enhance flexibility and customer experience in payment services. Our solutions empower consumers to choose when and how they pay while ensuring steady cash flow for merchants. You will become a vital member of one of our product teams, responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying robust software solutions. Your daily activities will include participating in architectural discussions, collaborating within an agile environment, analyzing business requirements, and ensuring high-quality documentation. Your work will directly influence the evolution of our products, helping us maintain our competitive edge and meet ambitious growth targets. Qualifications What you bring: Hands-on experience with C# and the .NET framework, with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience.Proven expertise in developing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based applications.Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems.Deep understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.Extensive experience working with relational databases, preferably SQL Server, and familiarity with ORMs such as Entity Framework.Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure, is highly desirable.Practical knowledge of messaging systems like RabbitMQ or Kafka within distributed architectures.Knowledge of the FinTech or banking industry is advantageous.Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor, including the ability to review and validate their outputs.Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills. Responsibilities Design, develop, test, and deploy maintainable, scalable, and high-quality software, APIs, and workflows.Lead and participate in technical architecture discussions to ensure optimal system design.Engage actively in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.Analyze business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and implement solutions accordingly.Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, components, and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and future development.Implement industry best practices and standards to continually improve code quality and system architecture.Contribute positively to the engineering culture by adopting and promoting organizational and industry standards.Stay abreast of emerging technologies and integrate relevant innovations into our development processes.
