About The Role As a Senior Public Cloud Engineer (m/w/d), you will play a vital role in expanding and optimizing our cloud platform and infrastructure, with a particular focus on Google Cloud. Your primary responsibility will be to design, support, and operate cloud architectures that facilitate seamless and automated migration of workloads. You will be part of an agile, interdisciplinary team that encourages continuous learning and skill development. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you should have a completed IT degree or a comparable qualification with relevant IT expertise. You should possess proven experience in public cloud environments, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP), as well as extensive knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform. Experience with version control systems like GitLab, GitHub, or Bitbucket is essential. Basic understanding of Linux and Windows server administration, network management, and load balancers is required. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker, scripting languages such as Bash and PowerShell, and programming in Python is highly advantageous. You should be willing to take responsibility, clearly define roles, and distinguish between team and cross-department tasks. Knowledge of industry standards, security concepts, regulatory compliance, and standards within the insurance and financial sectors is a plus. Certifications in cloud technologies are desirable, and we support ongoing training and certification efforts. Excellent communication skills in German and English, along with a team-oriented mindset, are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Design, support, and operate cloud architectures to facilitate workload migrations to Google Cloud.Continuously develop and improve the Google Cloud platform, focusing on virtual machine services such as Compute Engine.Create, implement, and optimize frameworks for cloud-based infrastructure and applications.Prioritize and manage requirements within the backlog and roadmap for the virtual machine platform.Collaborate closely with technical product owners to promote understanding of cloud benefits and motivate application migrations.Establish standardized processes and mechanisms, providing guidance during the implementation and deployment of workloads in Google Cloud.Utilize modern automation, deployment (CI/CD), and infrastructure-as-code methods to develop and maintain complex cloud infrastructures and services.
