Role: Platform Engineer Location: Minnetonka, MN – 3days/week Hybrid role Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-native infrastructure and platform services. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Terraform module development, Kubernetes administration, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and end-to-end observability solutions. This role will be responsible for enabling engineering teams through self-service platform capabilities, standardised infrastructure patterns, and reliable cloud operations. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain reusable Terraform modules and infrastructure blueprints at an enterprise scale.Establish and govern Terraform repository structures, module versioning, CI/CD integration, and IaC best practices.Build and manage Kubernetes platforms, including cluster provisioning, upgrades, security hardening, and lifecycle management.Implement and maintain cloud-native observability frameworks covering metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and dashboards.Develop platform automation capabilities to improve deployment velocity, reliability, and operational efficiency.Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to implement platform engineering standards.Optimize infrastructure performance, availability, scalability, and cost efficiency across environments.Troubleshoot production platform issues and lead root cause analysis activities.Implement security controls, compliance requirements, and operational best practices for cloud infrastructure.Drive continuous improvement initiatives for platform reliability and developer experience. Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering.Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, including:Advanced module authoringState managementWorkspace managementRepository structure and governanceCI/CD integrationStrong experience administering and operating Kubernetes in production environments.Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker.Proficiency in one or more cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and GitOps methodologies.Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash, or similar languages.Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Elasticsearch, Datadog, New Relic, or Splunk. Preferred Qualifications Experience with service mesh technologies such as Istio or Linkerd.Knowledge of Kubernetes security, networking, and ingress management.Experience with ArgoCD, FluxCD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.Familiarity with policy-as-code frameworks such as OPA or Sentinel.Cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator, CKA, or CKAD.
