About The Role We are seeking a highly experienced Principal AI Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered capabilities within our enterprise platform. Your expertise will directly influence the evolution of our AI offerings, ensuring they are secure, reliable, and aligned with customer needs. This is a hands-on, technical leadership position requiring a deep understanding of AI systems, software engineering best practices, and enterprise architecture. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product management, security, design, and customer success to translate complex customer requirements into scalable AI solutions. Your responsibilities will include owning end-to-end AI capabilities, developing production-quality code, designing agentic systems, and establishing robust evaluation and monitoring processes. You will also play a critical role in fostering a culture of innovation, mentorship, and continuous improvement within the engineering team. The ideal candidate is passionate about advancing AI technology in enterprise settings and has a proven track record of delivering scalable, secure, and high-performance AI applications. Qualifications 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong background in product development and operations.Proficiency in Python and at least one of the following languages: C#, TypeScript, or Java.Hands-on experience building and deploying production Large Language Model (LLM) or agentic AI applications.Deep understanding of data-intensive systems, including APIs, event streams, data transformation, and observability.Strong system design skills for cloud-native, distributed, multi-tenant SaaS products, emphasizing security, reliability, and performance.Practical experience evaluating AI systems through datasets, telemetry, automated testing, and qualitative review.Ability to translate complex use cases into technical requirements, balancing rapid validation with scalable solutions.Excellent communication skills, capable of working effectively with cross-disciplinary teams and customers.Degree in computer science, software engineering, AI/ML, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Responsibilities Own and deliver complete AI capabilities from problem discovery through design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.Develop, review, and maintain production-grade code for AI services, APIs, data pipelines, and product interfaces.Design and implement agentic systems, including retrieval, grounding, structured outputs, tool execution, and state management.Translate customer needs into platform requirements, ensuring trustworthiness through data quality, governance, and observability.Create early prototypes and validate AI solutions against real workflows, iterating to develop scalable product features.Integrate evaluation metrics and telemetry to monitor AI performance, safety, latency, and cost-effectiveness.Engineer enterprise trust through tenant isolation, access controls, auditability, and secure deployment practices.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to turn customer problems into measurable outcomes, fostering best practices in applied AI engineering.Mentor junior engineers, contribute reusable libraries, and promote engineering excellence across teams.
