About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated DevOps Engineer (m/w/d) to join our dynamic IT team at CHECK24. In this role, you will work closely with our Director of IT and support six internal IT teams by providing expert guidance on infrastructure, deployment processes, configuration management, and technical problem-solving. Your primary focus will be on automating repetitive tasks, maintaining our Linux-based systems, and integrating AI tools into our workflows to optimize efficiency and reliability. Qualifications The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background with relevant experience in DevOps, Linux systems, or systems engineering. You should possess a completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, Physics, or a comparable technical field. A minimum of three years of practical experience in automation, infrastructure management, and system support is required. Proficiency in Ansible and Debian-based Linux system operation is essential; experience with configuration management tools like Chef or Puppet is a plus. You should have a scripting mindset, with skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages, and be familiar with version control systems such as Git. Knowledge of AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor and their application within DevOps workflows is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills in German (at least C1 level) and a collaborative attitude are also important for success in this role. Responsibilities Supporting IT Teams: Provide technical assistance to six internal IT teams, advising on infrastructure issues, deployment strategies, and troubleshooting complex technical challenges. While you support their operations, the responsibility for application and service uptime remains with the respective teams.Automation: Automate routine tasks using Ansible, scripting, and Infrastructure as Code practices to establish reliable, self-sufficient processes that minimize manual intervention, ensuring operational efficiency and consistency across systems.System Management: Maintain and enhance our Debian Linux systems and FortiGate firewalls through configuration, patching, hardening, and continuous improvement initiatives, emphasizing automation wherever feasible.Technical Collaboration: Act as a technical sparring partner for development teams, analyzing issues, co-developing solutions, and transferring knowledge to enable teams to resolve similar challenges independently in the future.AI Integration in Automation: Integrate AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor into automation workflows, analysis, and scripting to accelerate processes and improve outcomes.Continuous Development: Regularly review existing setups, propose improvements, and collaboratively decide on the evolution of our automated infrastructure and technical support strategies to stay ahead of technological advancements.
