About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer (C#/.Net) to join our innovative team at our Berlin location, with hybrid working conditions available. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our cutting-edge financial technology solutions that facilitate flexible and customer-centric payment options. Your work will directly impact how consumers and merchants interact with payments, ensuring seamless, reliable, and secure transactions. As part of our dynamic product teams, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying robust software applications, APIs, and workflows. Your expertise will help shape the technical architecture of our systems while adhering to industry best practices. You will participate actively in agile ceremonies, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and communicate complex technical concepts effectively. Your contributions will help us build scalable, maintainable, and innovative solutions that align with our mission to create human-centric and sustainable FinTech products. Qualifications What you bring to the table: Hands-on experience with C# and the .NET framework, with a minimum of 5 years of professional experience.Proven expertise in developing, deploying, and maintaining cloud-based applications, preferably within Azure.Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and distributed systems design.Deep understanding of RESTful API development and integration.Extensive experience working with relational databases, particularly SQL Server, and familiarity with ORMs such as Entity Framework.Knowledge of cloud development practices, including infrastructure as code, containerization, and deployment in Kubernetes environments.Practical experience with messaging platforms like RabbitMQ or Kafka in distributed architectures.Familiarity with the FinTech and banking sectors is a plus.Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, with sound judgment in code review and testing.Fluent in English, with excellent communication skills. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain high-quality, scalable software solutions, including applications, APIs, and workflows.Participate in defining and communicating technical architecture and design decisions.Engage actively in agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications while maintaining comprehensive documentation.Implement industry standards and best practices to enhance code quality, security, and performance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet business needs.Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate them into our development practices where appropriate.
