Job Summary
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within our platform engineering team, you will build and maintain services and pipelines that power our code intelligence platform.
You will connect semantic-tree and code-index data to engineering and controls workflows, implementing integrations and automated checks under the guidance of senior engineers.
You will take ownership of your components, ensuring their reliability and correctness in production.
Your work will directly impact developer experience and compliance automation, and you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape the platform's evolution.
Job Responsibilities
Build and maintain scalable services and pipelines for semantic-tree and code-index dataImplement integration points with CI/CD pipelines, PR checks, policy engines, and developer toolingTranslate compliance and control requirements into automated checks against code structureWrite tests, monitoring, and documentation for owned componentsDebug and resolve issues across the stack, from data pipelines to integrationsParticipate in design discussions and code reviews, contributing ideas to improve architectureCollaborate with control owners and engineering teams to understand usage needsTake ownership of reliability and correctness in production environmentsApply best practices in software engineering and automationCommunicate effectively with team members and stakeholdersStay current with industry trends in code intelligence and compliance automation
Preferred Qualifications, Skills, And Capabilities
Demonstrate proficiency in Java or Python and apply strong knowledge of AI concepts and experience in program analysis or structural code representationsBuild and deliver moderately complex features independentlyDevelop and maintain backend services and data pipelines and write clean, well-tested code and maintain documentationTranslate technical requirements into reliable, automated solutionsCollaborate effectively in cross-functional teams and communicate technical information clearlyAdapt to evolving technologies and requirements and manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectivelyUphold inclusive and ethical standards in engineering
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills
Experience with static analysis, ASTs, code parsing, or structural code representationsFamiliarity with search/indexing systems and large-scale data pipelinesExposure to SDLC processes and compliance/controls engineeringExperience in regulated enterprise environmentsKnowledge of CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling integrationsInterest in mentoring or supporting junior engineersExperience working in agile development environments
