A leading provider of IT consulting services is seeking two Java Developers to support a critical initiative with U.S.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
This opportunity is ideal for experienced software engineers who are passionate about building and modernizing enterprise applications that help government agencies respond to evolving business and technology challenges.
This is a hybrid position based in Ashburn, VA, requiring onsite attendance 1-2 days per week.
This role offers the chance to work on mission-critical applications that support national security and border protection operations.
The organization is looking for developers with strong Java expertise and experience building scalable, secure, and maintainable applications using modern frameworks and development practices.
Candidates will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, influence technical solutions, and contribute to modernization efforts within a dynamic federal environment.
Required Skills & Experience
5+ years of professional software development experience Strong experience with Java and object-oriented programming principles Hands-on experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and related technologies Experience developing, testing, and deploying enterprise-scale applications Knowledge of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and web services Experience working with relational databases and SQL Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and Agile development practices Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desired Skills & Experience
Active Top Secret (TS) clearance preferred Existing DHS clearance strongly preferred Experience with Angular, React, and/or TypeScript for front-end development Experience working in federal government or DHS environments Knowledge of cloud technologies and containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices Familiarity with security-focused application development and secure coding standards Experience integrating front-end and back-end systems in enterprise environments
