Job Summary Java backend developer covering Core Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, SQL, testing, Git, CI/CD, and cloud/container technologies Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance backend applications and microservices using Java and Spring Boot. Develop, test, document, and implement RESTful APIs, business services, and integration components in accordance with technical specifications. Ensure code quality through peer reviews, unit and integration testing, static analysis, and continuous integration and delivery practices. Key Responsibilities Role holder is an individual contributor. Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performance backend applications and microservices using Java and Spring Boot. Develop, test, document, and implement RESTful APIs, business services, and integration components in accordance with technical specifications Ensure code quality through peer reviews, unit and integration testing, static analysis, and continuous integration and delivery practices. Design and optimise relational database schemas, queries, transactions, and data-access layers using SQL and appropriate persistence frameworks Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, remediate defects, and contribute to operational support and continuous improvement. Skills And Experience Must-have Skills Java Spring Framework REST APIs and Microservices Other Skills Databases and Persistence: CI/CD and ADO Kafka Motivations Strong domain knowledge of banking applications, controls, security, and data-handling expectations Understanding of build and dependency-management tools such as Maven or Gradle, version control with Git, and CI/CD pipelines. Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, continuous-learning, communication, and time-management skills. Qualifications Key Experiences Knowledge of unit and integration testing using JUnit and Mockito, API testing, static analysis, code reviews, and clean-code principles. Java: Strong proficiency in Core Java, object-oriented programming, collections, exception handling, concurrency, and modern Java features. Spring Framework: Strong working knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring MVC, dependency injection, configuration, validation, and Spring Security; experience with Spring Data is required. Certifications / Qualifications The intended qualification is for a Java backend developer with 2+ years of experience, covering Core Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, SQL, testing, Git, CI/CD, and cloud/container technologies.
