Summary ✨ AI‑Generated

Join a security-focused technology team building reliable backend infrastructure that connects applications with blockchain networks and crypto data services. You will develop services for account discovery, transaction history, fee estimation, metadata, and transaction broadcasting, while designing for failures across nodes, RPC providers, and third-party APIs. The role offers strong ownership, architectural influence, and opportunities to shape long-term blockchain infrastructure.

Highlights

Own blockchain infrastructure work end to end, influence architecture and observability, and work on reliable services supporting digital-asset applications.

Description

We’re Trezor, the company that invented the world’s first hardware wallet and a leading name in crypto security. Founded in 2013 and still 100% self-owned, we build open-source products that help more than two million people across 200+ countries secure their digital assets. As a Crypto Backend Engineer, you’ll work on the infrastructure connecting Trezor Suite to blockchain networks and crypto data services — powering everything from account discovery and transaction history to fee estimation, token metadata, and transaction broadcasting. You’ll build services that stay reliable even when blockchain nodes, RPC providers, or third-party APIs don’t. You’ll own your work end to end, influence architecture and observability, and help shape the long-term direction of Trezor’s blockchain infrastructure. You don’t need to know every blockchain we support on day one. What matters is your ability to understand unfamiliar systems, investigate how they behave under failure, and turn that knowledge into reliable production software. If this sounds like the kind of infrastructure you’d like to own, keep reading. 💪 What You’ll Be Working On Blockchain connectivity - building and improving reliable communication with nodes, RPC providers, explorers, and indexers across UTXO and account-based networksBlockbook development & maintenance - maintaining and actively developing Blockbook, an open-source blockchain indexer created by Trezor and used by major RPC providers such as QuickNode and NOWNodesBackend services - developing services for fiat rates, token and coin metadata, fees, and other crypto data used throughout Trezor SuiteThird-party integrations - integrating and evaluating providers such as QuickNode while designing sensible caching, fallback, and routing strategiesReliability at scale - improving monitoring, logging, alerting, request optimization, and incident detection so users barely notice provider failuresArchitecture and ownership - contributing to technical decisions, architecture reviews, and infrastructure planningSecurity and collaboration - working closely with DevOps, Security, and product engineering teams to operate dependable and secure services 💪 About You You have production experience building backend services in TypeScript/Node.js or GoExperience designing, operating, and debugging APIs or distributed servicesSolid knowledge of SQL databases, preferably PostgreSQL, and practical data modellingAbility to investigate failures across application, network, database, and third-party service boundariesUnderstanding of production observability, including metrics, logs, tracing, and alertingStrong problem-solving skills and the ability to make pragmatic technical decisionsGood written and spoken English Nice to have: Experience with blockchain nodes, RPC APIs, indexers, explorers, or other crypto infrastructureUnderstanding of UTXO and account-based blockchain modelsExperience integrating third-party crypto-data servicesFamiliarity with Docker, containerized deployments, caching, queues, or cloud infrastructureKnowledge of multiple blockchain ecosystems and their network protocolsOpen-source contributions ✍️ Our Stack TypeScript, Node.js, Go, PostgreSQL, DockerBlockchain nodes, RPC APIs, explorers, indexers, and third-party data providersMonitoring, logging, and alerting tooling for production servicesGit and an open-source development workflowCheck out our GitHub 🤝 What we offer A unique opportunity to be part of a pioneering, security-first company in the crypto industryA role where you can build, implement, and see the real impact of your workThe chance to work in an open-source company where transparency, trust, and security are part of how we thinkA high level of ownership and freedom — you’ll have real influence over the architecture and reliability of our blockchain infrastructureOption to get paid in bitcoinFlexible working hours and a supportive teamBudget for professional development, including training programs, courses, and workshops of your choiceFriendly, open culture with regular company events and fun get-togethersRenovated offices with a gym, football table, billiards, PlayStation, 3D printer and free on-site parkingAdditional benefits such as a MultiSport card, company mobile phone tariff, massages, yoga, fitness classes, and more 👋 Sounds good?
