Advance Core Java Backend Developer

Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Core Java Backend Engineer to join the technology team supporting. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and SQL performance tuning. Successful candidate will design, develop, optimize, and maintain highly scalable and secure backend applications supporting mission-critical financial services. This role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, experience working with distributed systems, and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, product managers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other technology stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Core Java and Spring Boot. • Build and support robust, secure, and high-performance microservices-based applications. • Develop RESTful APIs and integrate backend services with internal and external systems. • Apply strong object-oriented design principles, design patterns, and clean coding practices. • Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into reliable software solutions. • Optimize application performance, scalability, availability, and maintainability. • Perform SQL query optimization, database performance analysis, and tuning of stored procedures and indexes. • Troubleshoot production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions. • Collaborate with database engineers to improve data access patterns and resolve performance bottlenecks. • Develop unit, integration, and automated tests to ensure application quality and reliability. • Participate in design and code reviews and provide technical guidance to other engineers. • Contribute to system architecture, technical documentation, and engineering standards. • Work with DevOps teams to support CI/CD pipelines, application deployments, and production releases. • Monitor application health and performance using logging, metrics, and monitoring tools. • Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for security, resiliency, auditability, and regulatory compliance. Required Skills • 06+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on Java backend engineering. •Advanced knowledge of Core Java, including: Object-oriented programming, Collections and generics, Exception handling, Multithreading concurrency, JVM fundamentals, Memory management and garbage collection, Java 8+ features, including Streams and Lambdas. •Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem. •Proven experience designing and developing RESTful microservices. •Strong understanding of microservices design principles, including: Service decomposition, Resiliency and fault tolerance, Distributed transactions, Service-to-service communication, Configuration •management, API versioning, Observability and monitoring. •Advanced SQL knowledge and practical experience with SQL performance tuning. •Experience analysing execution plans and optimizing: Complex queries, Joins, Indexes, Stored procedures and Database connections Transactions. •Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or DB2. •Experience with unit and integration testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, or Test containers. •Experience using source control systems such as Git. •Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and Agile practices. •Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience working in the financial services, banking, investment management, or capital markets industry. • Experience supporting high-volume, low-latency, and mission-critical enterprise applications. • Familiarity with messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, IBM MQ, or ActiveMQ. • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud. • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
