Build the technology powering critical utility infrastructure.
Survalent is seeking a Cloud & DevOps Engineer to design, secure, and optimize cloud environments across Azure, AWS, and OT systems.
You’ll work hands-on with DevOps automation, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, cloud security, networking, and high-availability solutions.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Cloud Infrastructure Administration
•Design, deploy, and maintain cloud environments in Azure and AWS.
•Manage virtual machines, storage accounts, databases, containers, serverless workloads, and networking services.
•Support SaaS, IaaS, and PaaS solutions utilized by Survalent and its customers.
•Administer Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), AWS VPCs, subnets, route tables, and security controls.
•Monitor cloud environments for performance, cost optimization, availability, and security compliance.
•Manage backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
DevOps & Automation
•Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software development and deployment.
•Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as:
oTerraform
oAWS CloudFormation
oPowerShell
•Automate operational tasks and deployment processes.
•Integrate cloud-native monitoring and alerting solutions.
•Support source control and DevOps best practices using Azure DevOps and Git platforms.
Network & Security Architecture
•Design and deploy secure Hub-and-Spoke cloud networking architectures.
•Configure and maintain:
oLoad Balancers
oReverse Proxies
oWeb Application Firewalls (WAF)
oVPN Gateways
oS2S / P2S VPN
•Manage DNS services, routing policies, traffic management, and security groups.
•Support Zero Trust architecture and cloud security best practices.
•Collaborate with Cybersecurity teams on security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and compliance initiatives.
Monitoring & Reliability
•Maintain monitoring dashboards and automated alerting solutions.
•Troubleshoot system outages, networking issues, performance bottlenecks, and cloud service disruptions.
•Conduct root cause analysis and document corrective actions.
•Participate in on-call support and incident response activities as required.
Documentation & Compliance
•Develop and maintain architecture diagrams, SOPs, and operational documentation.
•Support compliance initiatives including:
oComply with Survalent’ s ISO/IEC 27001:2022 Information Security Management System (ISMS) Policy.
oSOC 2
oComply with Survalent’ s ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) Policy.
•Participate in audits and continuous improvement activities.
•Other duties as assigned
Education, Knowledge, Skilled and Abilities
▪Bachelor’s degree required in Computer Science; Information Technology; Computer Engineering; Cybersecurity; Related technical discipline, or a related field.
▪5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure and DevOps roles.
▪3+ years administering both Azure and AWS environments.
▪Experience supporting production and customer-facing cloud platforms.
▪Experience working with high-availability and mission-critical systems
Technical Skills Requirements
•Cloud Platforms: Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS)
•Networking: Hub-and-Spoke Architecture, AWS VPC Design, VPN Technologies, DNS, Network Security Groups, Firewalls
•Load Balancing & Reverse Proxy: Azure Load Balancer, Application Gateway, AWS ELB (ALB/NLB), Reverse Proxy Architecture
•DevOps: Azure DevOps, Terraform, PowerShell, CI/CD Pipeline Design
•Security: Identity & Access Management, Microsoft Entra ID, WAF, Cloud Security Controls, Security Monitoring
This is a full-time permanent position reporting to the Senior IT Manager.
The salary range for this role is $90,000 – $110,000.
