Satellite Telecommunication System Engineer

Telespazio Belgium has an on‑site service at ESTEC in the Netherlands, and we are looking for a highly skilled Satellite Telecommunication System Engineer to work there. Candidates must be eligible for a security personal clearance from an EU Member State national security administration What is expected from you: Support ESA in the activities of satellite telecommunication system analysis and simulation The activities include: Assistance in preparation of invitation to tenders related to ESA R&D.Support the management of industrial R&D activities in the areas of system design, analysis and simulationsSupport internal hands-on technical analysis on subjects related to future SATCOM systemsSupport the preparation of the section R&D technology roadmaps in the area of satellite telecom network protocols, architectures and systemsSupport ESA-wide projects in the area of telecommunication systems and technologiesWhat you offer : Master's degree / PhD (preferable) in Telecommunication or Electrical engineeringGood background on satellite communication system and technologies, particularly in the areas of maritime and aeronautical servicesExperience in satellite system and network simulationsGood knowledge of the 3GPP 5G protocolAt least 2 years of relevant work experience in the field of telecommunications covering the following:System level analysis of satellite telecommunication networksEnd-to-end Physical/MAC layer analysis and simulationsGood knowledge of SATCOM related standardsKnowledge of MATLAB and other programming languages such as Julia, Python, C++.What we offer: A competitive salary30 days of paid annual leave, plus the days ESTEC is closed including public holidays (~12 days) based on a 40-hour working week;Hybrid working scheme (3 days in the office and 2 days remote in the Netherlands)Flexible working hours; you are in charge of your own agenda respecting core working hoursFully paid collective extensive health insurance scheme;A good pension scheme with no personal contribution;A career development (Coursera membership + training budget);Travel allowance;Extensive relocation packageWhere: You will be working within ESTEC, the European Space Agency’s offices in the Netherlands as a contractor for Telespazio Belgium.
