Python Developer Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands Work Arrangement: Hybrid Contract: Contract Experience: 8–10 years Role Overview We are looking for an experienced IT Platform Engineer with strong expertise in Python and Microsoft Azure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full software development lifecycle, from planning and solution design through hands-on development, testing, deployment and ongoing improvement. You will work within a modern DevOps environment, building reliable, scalable and maintainable platform solutions using cloud technologies, Infrastructure as Code and automated CI/CD practices. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, test and deploy reliable software and platform solutions.Develop high-quality applications and services using Python and object-oriented programming.Design and implement solutions across Microsoft Azure, including storage, access management and networking.Apply SOLID principles, design patterns and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.Work with both SQL and NoSQL databases, including Azure Cosmos DB.Apply data governance principles and technologies such as Unity Catalog.Develop comprehensive unit tests using pytest and mocking frameworks.Collaborate with developers, architects and other technical stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.Contribute to continuous improvement of development, testing and deployment processes. Essential Skills & Experience 8–10 years of professional IT/software engineering experience.Strong hands-on experience with Python.Excellent knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, Analysis and Design.Strong experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.Experience with Azure storage, access management and networking.Strong knowledge of Terraform / Infrastructure as Code.Solid understanding of DevOps and CI/CD.Experience with incremental/agile software development practices.Strong understanding and practical application of SOLID principles and design patterns.Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD).Experience working with SQL and NoSQL databases.Knowledge of Cosmos DB is highly desirable.Experience with unit testing using pytest and mocking libraries.Knowledge of data governance, including Unity Catalog, is desirable.Experience with Kubernetes is desirable.
