Senior DevOps Engineer

We are partnering with a premier international financial institution to recruit an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer based in Hong Kong. In this role, you will take technical ownership of scalable, resilient multi-cloud environments (AWS & Alibaba Cloud), lead production container orchestration with Kubernetes, and modernize CI/CD pipelines supporting mission-critical trading platforms and financial systems. You will collaborate closely with software engineering, QA, and platform architects to build secure, automated, and observable high-throughput systems. Key Responsibilities Cloud Architecture & IaC: Design, provision, and maintain secure multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS / Alibaba Cloud) using Terraform and Ansible. Container Orchestration: Deploy, operate, and continuously optimize production Kubernetes (K8s) clusters and containerized platforms. CI/CD & Delivery: Build, optimize, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid, dependable, and zero-downtime release lifecycles. System Observability: Manage comprehensive monitoring, log aggregation, and alerting solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and OpenSearch. High Availability & Change Governance: Manage release processes, change control, and root-cause analysis for production environments, maintaining strict SLA uptime and low-latency standards. Documentation & Standards: Establish and maintain technical runbooks, disaster recovery SOPs, and system architecture documentation. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical disciplines. 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or cloud platform operations. Demonstrated expertise operating Kubernetes and Docker in live production settings. Strong multi-cloud expertise with AWS and/or Alibaba Cloud. Solid proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and configuration tools like Ansible. Hands-on knowledge of core networking, Nginx load balancing, and database/cache infrastructure (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis). In-depth experience with monitoring and observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, OpenSearch). Strong troubleshooting ability in distributed, high-throughput Linux environments. Communication skills fluent in Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) with English Preferred Qualifications Experience within fintech, retail securities brokerages, capital markets, trading platforms (OMS/RMS, market data feeds), or SFC-licensed virtual asset exchanges. Hands-on experience with modern GitOps workflows and tools (ArgoCD, FluxCD, Jenkins). Experience operating high-throughput streaming and messaging queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or RocketMQ). Familiarity with financial compliance, audit requirements, and system hardening practices.
