This position focuses on reducing toil through code, improving our ability to build and scale. As an SRE, you will be a crucial part of our ability to deliver global infrastructure connectivity for the next generation of Akamai's services. Partner with the best Our SRE team sits directly next to Architecture, Engineering and Ops. We are tasked with identifying the biggest areas for improvement and are responsible for designing and building solutions. With a focus on software, you will be directly responsible for continuously improving Akamai's ability to monitor and operate our backbone. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for: Designing and building systems that support automated operational workflows and provide deep insights into our global network dataIdentifying and eliminate bottlenecks in operational workflows caused by process inefficiencies, manual toil, and technical debtGenerating telemetry data and deep observability for network infrastructureArchitecting our code to be self-sustainable, robust and easily maintainable, focusing on CI/CD, test-driven development, and iterative designSupporting and deploying cloud-native, third party software utilizing an infrastructure as code paradigm Do What You Love To be successful in this role you will: Contribute to the design and implementation of full stack systems, utilizing appropriate tools and frameworks for a given taskIdentify operational inefficiencies and develop software solutions to help relieve process bottlenecks.Maintain and enhance network telemetry and automation software stacks, including source of truth systems, metric agents, time-series databases, dashboarding, and alerting.Apply software and SDLC best practices consistently, supporting greater development efficiency within a collaborative team.Develop a strong understanding of global, complex, interconnected systems and proactively contribute to their reliability.
