What We Are Looking For As an Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll own the key services and processes that Forage is built on, and will help set the direction for future growth and investments. Beyond cloud services and CI/CD, you’ll contribute to developer experience, our incident response processes, load testing, and other critical functions. Day to day, you’ll spot weak points before they turn into outages, fine-tune databases to keep them fast under load, and put guardrails in place so product engineers can ship quickly. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.4+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years focused on infrastructure/DevOps/SRE work.Experience with AWS (or another major cloud provider) and infrastructure-as-code tooling (e.g. Terraform, CDK, Pulumi, CloudFormation).Practice preparing systems for production use — come with experience implementing monitoring, autoscaling, and security concerns in live services.Proven track record of owning complex systems — e.g. containerized deployments using cloud databases.Strong, remote-first, communication skills; able to collaborate across engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.Nice to have: prior experience in fintech, payments, or other highly regulated environments. Key Responsibilities Own Critical Services: Be responsible for critical services that power our applications, such as the compute and data storage layers powering Forage's payments processing and consumer app API systems.Manage CI/CD: Help manage, improve and evolve our CI/CD pipeline, focusing on speed and reliability.Improve Incident Response: Help our team reduce noisy alerting by tuning monitor sensitivity and expanding the self-healing/auto-scaling capabilities of our systems. Plan and organize activities to test and evolve how we respond to outages.Enhance Developer Experience: Build for both engineers and non-engineers, expanding who can, and wants to, contribute code changes with the adoption of AI agent-led development. Our Offer This role is Hybrid in San Francisco, we define hybrid as 2-3 days in office. We will consider remote within North America on a case-by-case basis. Your base salary would fall within the bands below. Please keep in mind that the equity portion of your offer is not included in these numbers and represents a significant part of your total compensation.
