Database Developer

A large-scale utilities and energy distribution business is looking for a Market Systems Database Developer to join their IT team on a 12-month contract. This role sits within Market Systems, supporting and enhancing the billing and metering systems that keep day-to-day operations running, while a separate program builds out the future-state platform. You'll be backfilling a critical technical capability, working across regulatory initiatives, platform enhancements and business-driven projects. What you'll be doing Design, develop, test and maintain Oracle database and PL/SQL solutions across a complex, high-availability application portfolioProduce and maintain technical documentation, solution designs, deployment guides, operational support docsTroubleshoot, resolve defects and lead root cause analysis on application and database issuesWork closely with developers, business analysts and technical analysts through a structured SDLC and design governance processSupport environment stability, deployments and vendor release activityWhat you'll bring Strong Oracle database development experience, including PL/SQLEnterprise application development experience, ideally within complex, mission-critical systemsSolid grounding in structured SDLC delivery, coding standards, code review, testing, change managementStrong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsSQL performance analysis/tuning experience highly regardedHighly regarded (not essential) Oracle Advanced Queuing (AQ)Unix/Linux shell scripting (Bash, Korn Shell, Perl)Billing, metering or electricity market systems experienceRegulatory change delivery experienceUtilities or energy sector backgroundITIL practices Courtney Smith Senior Consultant courtney.smith@au.experis.com ManpowerGroup is committed to being a Diversity Confident Recruiter and encourages applications from people from a diverse range of backgrounds, including people with a disability.
