Deine Rolle Als DevOps / Build & Release Engineer entwickelst du unsere Build-, Test- und Release-Infrastruktur weiter und sorgst dafür, dass unsere Software zuverlässig, reproduzierbar und effizient entwickelt und ausgeliefert werden kann. Du arbeitest an der Schnittstelle zwischen Softwareentwicklung, Embedded Systems und Engineering-Infrastruktur und optimierst unsere CI/CD-Workflows, Build-Umgebungen, Testprozesse und Release-Abläufe. Dabei arbeitest du eng mit unseren C++- und Embedded-Entwicklern zusammen, identifizierst Reibungspunkte im Entwicklungsprozess und entwickelst pragmatische Lösungen, die unseren Engineering-Alltag nachhaltig verbessern. Wir suchen eine technisch versierte und lösungsorientierte Persönlichkeit, die Freude daran hat, Entwicklungsprozesse zu automatisieren, komplexe Build-Umgebungen zu verstehen und eine stabile sowie leistungsfähige Engineering-Infrastruktur mitzugestalten. Das bewegst du bei uns CI/CD: Du pflegst und entwickelst unsere CI/CD-Workflows auf Basis von Gitea Actions und verwandten Tools kontinuierlich weiter.Build-Automatisierung: Du entwickelst automatisierte Build-, Test- und Deployment-Pipelines und sorgst für effiziente und zuverlässige Abläufe.Reproduzierbare Builds: Du stellst sicher, dass Builds über Entwicklerrechner, CI-Runner und Zielsysteme hinweg konsistent und reproduzierbar bleiben.Dependency Management: Du betreust und optimierst unser Conan-basiertes Dependency Management für unsere C++-Projekte.Containerisierung: Du nutzt Podman oder Docker, um stabile und reproduzierbare Build- und Testumgebungen bereitzustellen.Embedded Builds: Du unterstützt die Buildroot-basierte Erstellung und Bereitstellung von Images für unsere Zielsysteme.Testautomatisierung: Du entwickelst unsere automatisierten Tests von Unit-Tests bis hin zu hardwarenahen Systemtests kontinuierlich weiter.Release Management: Du optimierst Release-Automatisierung, Artefaktverwaltung, Versionierung und die Nachverfolgbarkeit unserer Software-Releases.Developer Experience: Du arbeitest eng mit C++- und Embedded-Entwicklern zusammen, analysierst Reibungspunkte und verbesserst unsere Entwicklungsprozesse und Toolchains.Dokumentation: Du dokumentierst Workflows, Konventionen und Infrastrukturentscheidungen klar, strukturiert und nachvollziehbar. Das bringst du mit Aus- und Weiterbildung: Du verfügst über eine Ausbildung oder ein Studium im Bereich Informatik, Software Engineering, Systemtechnik oder über eine vergleichbare Qualifikation durch praktische Erfahrung.Berufserfahrung: Du bringst fundierte Erfahrung mit CI/CD, Build-Automatisierung und Git-basierten Entwicklungsprozessen mit und bist mit containerisierten Build- und Testumgebungen vertraut.Technisches Verständnis: Du verfügst über solide Linux-Kenntnisse und verstehst moderne C++-Build-Workflows, Dependency Management, reproduzierbare Builds, stabile Toolchains und Artefaktmanagement. Your Role As a DevOps / Build & Release Engineer, you will further develop our build, test and release infrastructure, ensuring that our software can be developed and delivered reliably, reproducibly and efficiently. You will work at the interface between software development, embedded systems and engineering infrastructure, optimising our CI/CD workflows, build environments, test processes and release procedures. In this role, you will collaborate closely with our C++ and embedded developers, identify friction points in the development process and develop pragmatic solutions that sustainably improve our day-to-day engineering work. We are looking for a technically savvy, solution-oriented individual who enjoys automating development processes, understanding complex build environments and helping to shape a stable, high-performance engineering infrastructure. How You Can Make An Impact CI/CD: You maintain and continuously develop our CI/CD workflows based on Gitea Actions and related tools.Build Automation: You develop automated build, test and deployment pipelines, ensuring efficient and reliable processes.Reproducible Builds: You ensure that builds remain consistent and reproducible across developer machines, CI runners and target systems.Dependency Management: You maintain and optimise our Conan-based dependency management for our C++ projects.Containerisation: You use Podman or Docker to provide stable and reproducible build and test environments.Embedded Builds: You support the Buildroot-based creation and deployment of images for our target systems.Test Automation: You continuously develop our automated tests, from unit tests to hardware-near system tests.Release Management: You optimise release automation, artefact management, versioning and the traceability of our software releases.Developer Experience: You work closely with C++ and embedded developers, analyse friction points and improve our development processes and toolchains.Documentation: You document workflows, conventions and infrastructure decisions clearly, in a structured and comprehensible manner. Who Are We Looking For Education & Training: You have a degree or diploma in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering or an equivalent qualification gained through practical experience.Professional Experience: You bring solid experience with CI/CD, build automation and Git-based development processes, and are familiar with containerised build and test environments.Technical Understanding: You have strong Linux skills and understand modern C++ build workflows, dependency management, reproducible builds, stable toolchains and artefact management. Good scripting skills, e.g. in Bash or Python, round off your profile.Organisational Talent: You can approach complex build, test and release processes in a structured way, identify dependencies and prioritise technical topics sensibly.Quality Awareness: You value stable, reproducible and traceable development processes and recognise risks in build, dependency and deployment workflows at an early stage.Pragmatic Approach: You analyse technical problems systematically, develop practical solutions and enjoy improving existing systems step by step and sustainably.Communication Skills: You communicate technical contexts clearly and work constructively with software, C++ and embedded developers as well as other technical interfaces.Commitment: You identify with the mission and goals of Skysec Defence, take ownership and contribute with high dedication and a sense of responsibility to your area of work and the further development of our company.
