Senior Software Developer - Data & AI

Ignition Data is an Australian data consultancy and the sole authorised training partner for Data Vault 2.1 (CDVP2.1) certification across Australia, New Zealand and Asia Pacific. We help organisations build and modernise their data platforms, and we build our own products to support that work — including IRiS, the platform this role will help develop. This is a work from home role but must be based in New Zealand or Australia, our preference is Auckland. You must currently live in, and have the right to work in New Zealand or Australia. This role will be 100% work from home, the team collaborates via Microsoft Teams Flexible Working Hours to support a healthy work/life balance Essential Experience Due to the growth projections for Ingition and the current team in place the below experience is essential for this particular position: • 7+ years relevant software development experience • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and the broader Microsoft ecosystem and processes. • Practical experience with AI, including deploying AI in a production environment, with a solid working understanding of LLMs and good judgement about when (and when not) to use them. • Azure experience, ideally including containers and infrastructure-as-code deployments Technical Skills • Python and FastAPI • PostgreSQL, SQL and database concepts • Git / source control • UI development — React, TypeScript • Snowflake, Databricks, AWS • Data Vault methodology • CI/CD • Data governance Preferred Experience Not essential but would be great! • Application deployment and access security experience. • Familiarity with enterprise deployment processes. • Understanding of business processes and application technologies If this sounds like you, lets chat and see what we need to do to secure you in this role and our future!
