The Opportunity Williams International has an exciting opportunity for a Platform Engineer to join our team. We are seeking a highly skilled Platform Engineer to design, build, automate, and secure our on-premises and cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD automation, cybersecurity best practices, and enterprise monitoring platforms. This role will be responsible for delivering scalable, secure, and highly available platform services while ensuring compliance with security standards. This person will bridge the gap between Dev Ops and IT Infrastructure, fostering a culture of collaboration, speed, and reliability to accelerate our software delivery processes. This position is 100% on-site. The Platform Engineer's responsibilities will include: Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade on-premises cloud infrastructureDeploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters in production environmentsDevelop, maintain, and optimize Helm charts for application deploymentBuild and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using TerraformAutomate infrastructure provisioning, deployment, and operational tasks using PythonDesign and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Argo CDImplement GitOps practices for Kubernetes deploymentsImplement cloud and infrastructure security controls based on industry’s best practicesPerform vulnerability assessments, security hardening, and patch managementConfigure and manage IAM, RBAC, secrets management, and certificate managementIntegrate cybersecurity tools such as vulnerability scanners, endpoint protection, SIEM, and compliance platformsDeploy and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Splunk, or similar).Troubleshoot infrastructure, application, and security incidentsCollaborate with development, DevOps, networking, and security teams to deliver secure platform servicesDevelop technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational proceduresEnsure compliance with regulatory and security standards (FAR, DFARS, ITAR, CMMC). Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).5+ years of experience in Infrastructure, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, or Platform Engineering3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes administration in production environmentsStrong experience with: Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Python scripting, Jenkins, Argo CD, Git, Linux AdministrationExperience with container technologies (Docker/Containerd).Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, Firewalls, VPNs).Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code and GitOps methodologiesKnowledge of enterprise storage and virtualization platformsExperience with monitoring and observability platforms such as: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/OpenSearch, Dynatrace, DatadogStrong knowledge of: RBAC, Network Policies, Pod Security, Kubernetes Security, CIS Benchmarks, Zero Trust principlesCloud certifications are highly preferred, including one or more of:Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)HashiCorp Certified: Terraform AssociateAWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or ProfessionalMicrosoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect ExpertGoogle Professional Cloud ArchitectU.S. citizenship is requiredPosition requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance, if needed.
