Key Responsibilities Complete a structured two-week ramp: shadow each team member and deliver one written runbook per area. Independent from week three. Build an EC2 Image Builder golden AMI pipeline, then prove the rebuild pattern in pre-production before touching production. Rebuild the estate onto Amazon Linux 2023 in phases, one touch per server. Each host comes back in a single change window: patched enrolled in Systems Manager encrypted tagged monitored right-sized Stand up automated patching — SSM Patch Manager baselines, maintenance windows, compliance reporting — and hand it to a managed-services provider to operate. Implement blue-green deployment for the auto-scaled application tiers. Document as you go. Required Qualifications A track record of automating your way out of repetitive work. Hands-on AWS experience at multi-account scale, and infrastructure-as-code as your default working mode. Our estate is CDK/TypeScript, but experience with Terraform or CloudFormation will transfer. Comfort making changes to production systems in a regulated environment. Change windows, rollback plans, and evidence trails. Clear written and spoken communication. You will explain risk to the business. Working familiarity with several of the following, and the ability to pick up the rest: AWS (EC2, ASG/ALB, Systems Manager, Image Builder, CloudWatch, IAM/Identity Center), AWS-CDK with TypeScript, Amazon Linux, bash and Python, Java application workloads, Git, Jira, Claude Code.
