Senior Software Engineer

Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support a large-scale technology transformation initiative. This role will focus on designing, building and operating cloud-based backend services, APIs, integrations and business capabilities. The ideal candidate has strong backend engineering experience with APIs, microservices and cloud technologies. Experience with Generative AI, AI agents, RAG, knowledge graphs, ontologies or semantic technologies is highly preferred. This role will be involved throughout the full development lifecycle, from architecture and development through testing, deployment and production support. Responsibilities Design, build, test, deploy and support cloud-native backend services, APIs, workflows and integrationsDevelop business logic, domain services, orchestration services and reusable backend componentsBuild APIs and integrations across enterprise applications, third-party platforms, data services and AI capabilitiesDevelop microservices and event-driven solutions using modern distributed systems patternsUse AI coding tools and engineering copilots while maintaining strong development, review and testing standardsDevelop automated unit, integration, contract, regression and performance testingContribute to API standards, reusable development patterns, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automationSupport production readiness, monitoring, troubleshooting, incident response and continuous improvementPartner with Analysts, Product Owners and technical teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions Qualifications Strong professional experience in backend software engineeringHands-on experience with Java, Python, .NET, Node.js, TypeScript or similar enterprise technologiesStrong experience designing and developing APIs and microservicesExperience with API-first development, service orchestration and distributed systemsExperience with AWS or comparable cloud technologiesExperience with containers, CI/CD, automated deployments and infrastructure as codeExperience with automated testing, production support and application reliabilityAbility to design scalable, secure and resilient enterprise servicesStrong communication and collaboration skills Preferred Experience Generative AI, LLM application development, AI agents or agent orchestrationRetrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering or AI evaluationOntologies, taxonomies, knowledge graphs or semantic modelingVector databases, semantic search or metadata designPython-based AI/ML frameworks and data integration patterns
