Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
AWS Production Support: Independently diagnose complex issues, lead root-cause analysis, and drive reliable solutions across AWS services including ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, DocumentDB, DynamoDB, IAM, networking, logging, and monitoring.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Provision, design, develop, debug, and maintain enterprise-scale Terraform infrastructure.
Build reusable modules, manage remote state, review execution plans, troubleshoot drift, and safely apply change automation across environments.
Container & Kubernetes Management: Manage and maintain Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests for application and platform deployments.
Lead or contribute to production deployments, upgrades, incident resolution, and operational support for EKS/Kubernetes platforms.
Deployment & CI/CD Pipelines: Deploy and troubleshoot distributed applications using Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, or EKS (incorporating service discovery, ingress/load balancing, network policies, and logging/monitoring) via GitOps or CI/CD tooling (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, Harness, Argo CD, Flux).
Technical Leadership & Documentation: Take ownership of ambiguous production issues, explain technical risks and tradeoffs to leadership and cross-functional teams, mentor junior/mid-level engineers, and produce clear runbooks, design notes, and support documentation.
Operational Excellence: Maintain observability, incident response, change management, security hardening, disaster recovery awareness, and continuous improvement of platform reliability, scalability, performance, and cost efficiency.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Senior AWS Experience: 7+ years of hands-on DevOps, SRE, platform engineering, or cloud infrastructure experience, including 5+ years supporting, troubleshooting, and improving production workloads on AWS.
Terraform Expertise: 5+ years designing, developing, debugging, and maintaining Terraform-based infrastructure for AWS.
Must have direct experience provisioning/managing infrastructure using Terraform (not just consuming prebuilt modules) and deep understanding of state management, resource dependencies, module versioning, and policy controls.
Container & Kubernetes Depth: 5+ years of experience with containerized workloads and 3+ years of hands-on Kubernetes or EKS experience in production environments.
Thorough understanding of cluster operations, workload deployment, Helm, kubectl, autoscaling, networking, and IAM/RBAC integration.
Skill Level: Senior Level with greater than 8 years of total experience.
Preferred Certifications
AWS Certifications: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional OR AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional (Associate-level considered with strong senior hands-on experience).
Kubernetes Certifications: Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD), or equivalent hands-on container platform experience
