As a Staff Software Engineer at Super, you will operate far beyond the scope of a single team or service, working directly with senior engineering leadership to tackle large, cross-area technical challenges that span dozens — sometimes hundreds — of services across the platform. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of architecture, strategy, and execution, suited to someone who thrives on complex systems and ambiguous problems. You will help shape technical direction, guide major platform evolutions, and ensure our systems remain scalable, reliable, and efficient as we grow. What The Role Involves Collaborate closely with engineering leadership and teams to design and implement scalable, robust software solutionsAnalyse complex system challenges and develop clear strategies for improving architecture, scalability, and platform efficiencyDrive large cross-team initiatives from concept to execution, influencing decisions and aligning multiple teamsEnhance system automation across scale, resiliency, and deploymentBuild and improve core platform components and shared libraries (AWS, Go, Erlang, Kafka) used across the organisationWork with technical and non-technical stakeholders to understand and drive platform-wide improvementsBuild on our cloud-native platform, enabling greater use of AWS technology to accelerate delivery, scale, and resiliencyGrow the engineering community, elevating standards and helping teams operate more efficiently What We Are Looking For Minimum 8 years of hands-on experience in a large-scale production environmentExperience designing and implementing solutions at an organisational level, impacting multiple teams or tribesExperience engineering high-quality, highly scalable softwareStrong system design fundamentals, particularly in distributed systemsAbility to analyse complex technical problems and develop clear strategiesComfort working in ambiguous, high-impact problem spacesStrong communication skills with the ability to influence technical direction across teamsA passion for creating user-centric, data-driven solutionsWillingness to learn new technologies (our stack includes Golang and Erlang) Nice to have Experience in FintechInterest in functional programming About Super We are a global technology group, dedicated to building the future of entertainment and fan-centric experiences.
