Full Stack Engineer
Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Work Mode: Hybrid (3-4 days onsite)
Responsibilities
Design and develop robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions using industry best practices and cutting-edge technologiesDevelop our software framework on the front or the back endCollaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications and actionable plansArchitect and implement software systems that adhere to industry standards and regulatory requirementsConduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvementWork with cutting-edge fintech products and platformsParticipate in testing, release cycle, and QA processes relating to client deploymentsCollaborate with internal and external stakeholders to troubleshoot issues, implement solutions, and successfully deliver software projects within established timelines and budgetsStay abreast of emerging technologies, trends, and advancements in the financial services industry to drive innovation and maintain our competitive edge
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Software Engineering, or a related field4 years of experience delivering technology projects with financial institutions or enterprise firmsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically about complex technical challengesExperience writing commercial or open-source softwareProficiency in Java and experience in building Java-based Web applicationsExperience in developing user interfaces with Web technologies, such as HTML5, CSS3, TypeScript/JavaScript, JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular, and/or VueKnowledge of current market technical trends, including Cloud, Cognitive, Digital, Microservices / APIsExperience with REST APIs and equivalents such as gRPC.Experience with the middle/backend tech stack: Java, Python, as well as common knowledge of databases such as MongoDB, Oracle, MySQLFamiliarity or experience with new and emerging supporting technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, ELK Stack, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and/or other Cloud TechnologiesFamiliarity or experience with mobile technologies such as React Native, Flutter, and Ionic will be desirable.
Preferred, but not required:
Knowledge of build tools like Maven or Gradle.Basic understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.Exposure to Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is a plus.Familiarity with testing frameworks such as JUnit or TestNG.
