Description

Company Description Abacus is a fast-growing wealth technology company that builds secure, continuously updated financial data lakes for individuals, families, companies, and institutions. These "financial digital keys" enable clients to centralize and render all asset information across public equities, real estate, private equity, and alternative investments. Abacus combines a white-glove services team of experienced finance professionals with advanced AI agents to deliver accurate, customizable reporting and aggregation. Recognized by organizations such as Founders Arena, Morningstar, and Yahoo Finance, Abacus partners with UHNW individuals, RIAs, institutional managers, regional banks, and family offices. Clients use Abacus to power legacy software, general ledgers, tax preparation, insurance underwriting, and trust and estate workflows from a single, modern data lake. Role Description We're hiring a full stack engineer to work directly with our CTO on the core Abacus engine. The work is weighted toward the backend — the data infrastructure, services, and integrations that turn messy financial information into something clients can trust — but you'll carry features all the way to the interface. This is a small team building a real product for demanding users, so you'll own problems end to end rather than tickets, and you'll have a hand in the architecture rather than inheriting it. Qualifications • Cleverness, hunger, grit, and a desire to improve will take you further in this role than anyth ing below • Strong backend fundamentals — data modeling, APIs, services, and the judgment to know when a system needs to be built well versus built now • Full stack range, with the frontend ability to take a feature from schema to something a client can actually use • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward shipping; you'll be defining the approach as often as executing one • Care for correctness and security, given the sensitivity of the data we handle • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to non-engineers • Previous experience in fintech, wealth management, financial data, or B2B SaaS is beneficial
