Role Description
We're hiring a full stack engineer to work directly with our CTO on the core Abacus engine.
The work is weighted toward the backend — the data infrastructure, services, and integrations that turn messy financial information into something clients can trust — but you'll carry features all the way to the interface.
This is a small team building a real product for demanding users, so you'll own problems end to end rather than tickets, and you'll have a hand in the architecture rather than inheriting it.
Qualifications
• Cleverness, hunger, grit, and a desire to improve will take you further in this role than anyth
ing below • Strong backend fundamentals — data modeling, APIs, services, and the judgment to know when a system needs to be built well versus built now
• Full stack range, with the frontend ability to take a feature from schema to something a client can actually use
• Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward shipping; you'll be defining the approach as often as executing one
• Care for correctness and security, given the sensitivity of the data we handle
• Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to non-engineers
• Previous experience in fintech, wealth management, financial data, or B2B SaaS is beneficial
