This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Application Support Developer based in Canada. The Application Support Developer will combine software development and technical support expertise to maintain reliable, high-quality applications in a production environment. You will troubleshoot incidents, resolve defects, support releases, and develop solutions that serve both internal teams and external clients. The role requires strong hands-on experience across enterprise applications, databases, integrations, Unix/Linux environments, and modern development practices. You will work closely with application support, development, and offshore teams to maintain service continuity and deliver enhancements. Customer experience, risk management, and disciplined change practices will be central to your work. This is an opportunity to contribute to critical technology platforms while working in a fully remote environment. Accountabilities Provide timely technical support for internal users and external clients, leveraging knowledge of operating systems, applications, development lifecycles, and enterprise technology environments.Monitor and manage support requests and incidents, taking ownership of technical problems and driving them toward prompt and effective resolution.Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and remediate defects based on business and client priorities.Develop, modify, enhance, and maintain application solutions for internal and external stakeholders.Support application deployments, releases, maintenance fixes, and enhancements while ensuring production changes are properly implemented and supported.Update technical documentation, procedures, and support materials to reflect current systems and processes.Assist with systems integration activities and support application components across internal platforms, development teams, and technology vendors.Collaborate with offshore application development and support teams to coordinate technical activities and resolve issues efficiently.Work with development and application support teams on defect remediation, enhancements, and ongoing application maintenance.Apply technology policies, procedures, and change management practices to minimize operational and technology risks.Identify potential risks, escalate concerns proactively, and recommend appropriate technical or business practices.Deliver professional, customer-focused support interactions and communicate technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.Contribute technical insight to application and technology decisions, while adapting quickly to new tools, platforms, and technologies. Requirements College degree or equivalent professional experience.3–5 years of experience in application development and application support roles.Hands-on experience building enterprise workflows, particularly using the Appian platform.Strong knowledge of Appian objects and capabilities, including Records, Sites, Actions, Expression Rules, Constants, Query Rules, SAIL Interfaces, CDTs, Process Models, Decisions, Integrations, Web APIs, Connected Systems, Data Stores, and Groups.Mandatory experience with Unix/Linux operating systems and Unix scripting.Strong experience developing and maintaining SQL/Oracle, Java, Power BI, Talend, ETL processes, and data warehouse solutions.Experience with Java Spring Boot and REST APIs.Experience with Control-M or similar scheduling tools.Practical experience with both Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.Hands-on experience with Agile tools and the Atlassian ecosystem, including Jira and Confluence.Strong troubleshooting, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand complex systems and adapt quickly to emerging technologies.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within distributed and cross-functional teams.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users.Strong customer-service orientation and ability to remain effective in a fast-paced environment with limited direct supervision.Experience with low-code/no-code BPM solutions such as Appian is an asset.Experience with Salesforce or Dataphile is an asset.Working knowledge of HTML, adaptive/responsive design, complex data types, XSDs, and SQL queries is an asset.Experience with cloud-based implementations is an asset.Experience configuring SFTP and secure file delivery solutions is an asset.AWS experience is an asset.Current authorization to work in Canada is required.
