We’re looking for a Software Engineer II to join our ever-evolving Alternative Payment Methods delivery team and help us unleash the potential of every business. What You’ll Own Build, release, and operate new non-card payment method integrations quickly and reliably. Work in a cross-functional team to design, implement, test, deploy, and operate cloud-native APM services. Help integrate global providers so shoppers can pay with their locally preferred methods. Deliver well-scoped features with guidance from senior engineers and follow team standards to improve time-to-market. Responsibilities Design, implement, test, deploy, and run APM microservices and components.Contribute to component-level design: data models, APIs, SLAs/SLOs, and integration patterns (webhooks, polling, async messaging).Deliver new non-card payment integrations fast: build adapters/connectors, map provider APIs, handle webhooks, support local currencies and regulations.Work iteratively through provider sandboxes, certifications, and phased rollouts to speed launches.Join the on-call rota with guidance; follow runbooks and improve alerts, dashboards, and docs.Add metrics, logs, and traces to monitor integration health and success rates.Participate in code/design reviews; follow secure, performant, and reliable coding practices.Collaborate with product, QA, SRE, compliance, and regional teams to hit launch dates.Triage and fix bugs; do focused refactors and reduce technical debt within components. What You'll Bring 3-5 years of software engineering experience (or equivalent)Proficient with Java, Spring Boot, and DockerTDD is essential; Strong automated testing (unit, integration, contract)Understanding of distributed systems and integrations: idempotency, retries/backoff, timeouts, circuit breakers, partitioning, fault toleranceExperience with CI/CD and release automation; GitHub-based workflowsComfortable with Agile delivery and continuous improvementFluent in English (written and verbal) It’s a bonus if you have Kubernetes, AWS, or OpenShiftKafka or other messaging systemsPayments/fintech experience (APMs, scheme integrations), knowledge of regional payment landscapes, PCI-DSS awarenessObservability tools (Prometheus/Grafana, OpenTelemetry) and feature flagsExperience with provider sandboxes, certification, and staged rollouts About The Team Our inclusive and global teams win together every day.
