Our international IT Hub in Sofia, Bulgaria is growing, and we are looking for a Java Developer (Backend) to join our international team in Sofia.
You will work in an international environment and culture with a constant exchange of onsite-/offsite knowledge and delivering services over the fastest growing online healthcare platform in Germany.
Responsibilities:
Java Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems for our e-commerce platform using Java.Build and optimize RESTful APIs to support frontend applications and external integrations.Utilize design patterns and best practices to create maintainable, robust, and secure codebases.Collaborate with the team in an Agile environment to define, design, and ship new features.Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Gradle, Jenkins, and Git.Optimize database performance and queries on PostgreSQL for a seamless user experience.Leverage Docker to containerize applications for consistent deployment across environments.Use JIRA to manage tasks and track development progress.Ensure compliance with Open API standards and integrate external APIs as needed.Mentor junior developers and share knowledge within the team.
Requirements:
Degree in computer science or computer science application development.
At least 3-5 years of real-world experience developing modern Java applications.
Technology openness: You’ll contribute across multiple backend domains (app, web, cockpit) within a shared codebase, working with different APIs, integrations, and code structures.
Adaptability and a strong learning mindset are highly valued.
Strong proficiency in most of the tools, development methodologies and standards mentioned above.
Strong experience with development tools like IntelliJ IDEA.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
Strong systematic approach, conceptual and analytical thinking, creativity.
