Highlights
Remote-first European role at a profitable, product-focused company with strong end-to-end ownership. Engineers work closely with users, build features from concept through delivery, and enjoy a lean environment with meaningful technical autonomy.
Description
Senior full-stack engineer, remote-first in Europe.
Profitable company, real product, features that are yours end to end, and the room to build them well.
Evertrace detects founders before they show up in any startup database.
We monitor trade registries, domain registrations, patents, grants, GitHub, and social signals for the moments that mean a company is about to exist.
250+ of world's best early-stage VC firms, including Accel, Atomico and Earlybird, use us to find tomorrow's founders today.
We're building a highly specialised product for a niche market, and we intend to be the best in the world at it.
We got to profitability and 250+ customers in two and a half years, and we did it without anyone pushing us to ship shortcuts to hit a fundraising milestone.
We're in close contact with our users, but no single customer is big enough to run the roadmap.
We plan to keep the team focused and lean, which also means there's no head-of-engineering title and leading a huge team waiting at the end of this job.
What you get instead is a product you can put your own mark on, and colleagues who care about how things are built.
What you would do
You'd work directly with the founders on the product side.
That's the web app, the API and MCP, the workflow engine, everything our users touch.
Our roadmap is filled with big and exciting bets and we expect you to own several of them.
We collaborate closely together and expect high agency, meaning you can take things from 'idea' to 'live in production'.
The roadmap moves as we learn, but the work ahead looks roughly like this:
Bringing our users' own social networks and relationships into how they search, filter and do outreach through Evertrace.Making the platform smarter with AI, using everything we know about a founder, a fund and its portfolio to tailor and automate more of founder sourcing.Deeper integrations with the CRMs and tools VCs already live in.Making a user-facing durable workflow builder.Deepening how AI agents use Evertrace to help VCs stay on top of sourcing.Staying at the forefront of how AI can be used to automate, tailor and punch above our weight.
Most weeks are about 60% new features, 30% keeping the product solid, and 10% figuring out what comes next with the rest of the team.
The product is stable and we practically never have anything on fire.
The stack
TypeScript end to end.
React with the TanStack ecosystem on the frontend.
On the backend, an API and a durable workflow runner, both built on Effect.
Postgres on AWS, Docker, Grafana, PostHog.
You don't need to know Effect already.
It's opinionated, though, so you should want to work in something opinionated.
What we're looking for
You've shipped production features in TypeScript on both frontend and backend, and you know the language very well. You know React, or something close enough (Solid, Vue, Svelte, Angular) that picking up React is a week's work. You've worked in a team where features were yours end to end, with nobody handing you tickets. You work with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode or similar) as the main way you write code, you're good at it and eager to stay on top of what's new.You take pride in your work and you have opinions about software products.
Nice to have: TanStack, Effect or typed functional programming, durable workflow systems, extensive knowledge of SQL, cloud experience on any provider, having built on an LLM API in production, early-startup or founder experience.
Location and compensation
Remote-first, anywhere in Europe.
We meet in person a few times a year.
60,000–75,000 DKK a month plus pension, which is roughly €8,000–10,000 a month.
How we hire
Three conversations over about three weeks.
45–60 minutes with our CTO, Jakob, about what you've built, what you want, and an honest description of what this job is and isn't.Around 60–90 minutes pairing with Jakob on a real problem.60 minutes with the other co-founders over coffee.
We reply to everyone, and we'll tell you where you stand at every step.
How to apply
Send a CV and, if you like, a link to something you built and are proud of.
A few lines on why this role sounds right to you is more useful to us than a cover letter.
We keep your application for up to six months after the process closes, then delete it.
Ask and we'll delete it sooner.
