For more information, visit https://www.bitdefender.comAbout the roleWe are recruiting a Legal Advisor who will work in the areas of Commercial Law, Compliance, IT Law and Intellectual Property (IP) for Bitdefender Group companies worldwide. The role is not limited to the application of Romanian law (nevertheless we do not expect the candidate to have expertise in other jurisdictions): the candidate will supervise commercial agreements, license agreements and any legal related matters, ensuring that the organization meets all legal requirements in its operations. The candidate is expected to advise business and technical teams on complex topics, participate in multinational projects and collaborate with external lawyers from the relevant jurisdictions. Main responsibilitiesCommercial Law and Compliance Prepare and review all contracts with clients and suppliers to ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal procedures; Ensure compliance with all relevant legal requirements across the organization's operations; Ensure that tasks related to the organization's legal affairs are completed in an efficient and economical manner in order to contribute to the achievement of the organization's goals; Follow up on all legal cases with external legal advisors and local courts. IT, Communications and Data Privacy Ensure compliance with IT, communications and privacy laws and handle these matters within the Bitdefender group of companies; Advise on regulatory developments in the areas of data protection, cybersecurity and telecommunications legislation; Support the implementation of internal policies and procedures in line with the applicable legal framework. Intellectual Property (IP) Advise on IP-related matters, including the protection and management of trademarks, copyrights and other intellectual property rights; Prepare and review license agreements and IP-related contractual documentation. Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Support Offer support in due diligence processes for M&A activities of the Bitdefender group of companies; Collaborate with internal and external teams throughout the transaction cycle. Generals Serve as an advisor to business and technical teams and maintain relationships within the Bitdefender group of companies; Coordinate and supervise the work of external lawyers and consultants in the relevant jurisdictions; Participate in multinational legal projects and support business and management teams through pragmatic legal advice, oriented towards the organization's objectives. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Law; Minimum 7 years of relevant experience, acquired within the Legal Department of a large IT or communications company, either in in-house legal departments or in law firms; Solid and demonstrable knowledge of commercial, IP and IT laws; Very good knowledge of the applicable Romanian legal framework and ability to coordinate multinational projects and supervise external consultants from other jurisdictions; Excellent communication skills in English (advanced level); French or German communication skills are a plus; Highly responsible and motivated to work within a multicultural environment; Attention to detail, organized spirit, flexibility and ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
