Job Description Improve secure engineering practices across delivery teamsGrow technical capability through coaching and mentoringShape reliable, maintainable technology outcomes for customers About The Role Join our Insurance Technology team to improve software engineering capability, secure delivery and the quality of technology outcomes. You will combine hands-on engineering with technical guidance, coaching and practical improvements across people, processes and tools. Working with delivery teams and technical leaders, you will help resolve risks, remove delivery barriers and align team practices with domain standards. Your contribution will strengthen consistency, maintainability and continuous improvement across the software development lifecycle. What You'll Do Design, develop, test and document complex programs using agreed engineering standards and tools.Coach engineers to strengthen technical capability and embed practical software engineering practices.Guide the delivery team on technical questions and connect engineers with domain technical leaders.Improve development processes, standards and ways of working across people, process and technology.Embed secure development through code reviews, threat modelling and secure lifecycle practices.Identify and resolve technical risks, quality issues and delivery barriers with relevant stakeholders. What You'll Bring 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including two years in technical leadership responsibilities.Apply expert knowledge of Protect Application and Hopewiser address validation and data quality tools.Use strong programming, testing, behaviour-driven development, diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.Work confidently with relational database systems, job scheduling software and relevant development tools.Apply Agile methodologies, change management practices and full software development lifecycle principles.Communicate technical concepts clearly to engineers, stakeholders, customers and senior management.
