Summary ✨ AI‑Generated

Join a small, independent engineering team building sophisticated software for complex technical simulations. You will develop polished user-facing features, design APIs, tackle deployment challenges, and create interfaces that help engineers interact with hardware, workflows, and simulation data.

Highlights

Work on technically challenging simulation software, user-facing engineering tools, APIs, deployment problems, and highly functional interfaces within small, independent teams.

Description

We're building tools for space missions. Our crown jewel is a stack of in-house simulators. The work ranges from implementing performant physics models and raytracing algorithms to complex interfaces, API design and UX. Our focus is on building small, independent teams. We think what we're working on is pretty cool and fun, and everyone here is passionate for a bunch of stuff, work-related or otherwise :) We're looking for a full-stack software engineer with an eye for design. You work from first principles, advocate for frequent prototyping and employ data-driven decision making. Above all else, you honor your craft. The New Jersey style and the handmade ethos resonate with you. Over the next year you'll focus on user-facing features that let engineers interact directly with hardware, workflows and data — building beautiful, highly functional displays so they can easily run and analyze complex simulations. Refine API boundaries and face interesting deployment challenges. This role gives you a broad, high-level view of the entire company, connecting the software you write directly to the mathematical models and hardware we rely on to build reliable spacecraft. As you prototype on the UI, you'll actively help refine the backbone of our in-house tech. This role is for those who seek maximum agency across every aspect of what we're building. The ideal candidate moves through design cycles fast and owns the end-to-end process. Our philosophy is to get things built and tested in days or weeks, not months. Because of this, a portfolio is generally required to apply: show us the things you've actually built! Everything below is indicative. The bar is high, but don't second-guess yourself! If you feel like you're not ticking all the boxes, but you like what we're doing and want to be a part of it, apply! Nothing bad will come out of it ;) Responsibilities Build and ship core product features, directly impacting how people build and validate mission-critical tech every dayDevelop highly responsive, intuitive UIs that let engineers seamlessly design and troubleshoot spacecraftDesign and build dedicated internal tools that streamline mission design and system observabilityOwn major features end-to-end across the stack — from backend architecture all the way to the frontend experienceIterate rapidly alongside our users, translating their feedback into powerful, reliable software Requirements Strong demonstrated experience building and shipping real-world applications autonomouslyComfortable working end-to-end across the stack to take broad ownership of major featuresAbility to build clean, fast, intuitive interfaces — translating complex, information-dense simulations with heterogeneous data into highly usable frontendsStrong product sense and design taste, with a track record of earning trust through the consistent delivery of reliable software Nice-to-haves Strong demonstrated experience building and shipping real-world applications autonomouslyComfortable working end-to-end across the stack to take broad ownership of major featuresAbility to build clean, fast, intuitive interfaces — translating complex, information-dense simulations with heterogeneous data into highly usable frontendsStrong product sense and design taste, with a track record of earning trust through the consistent delivery of reliable softwareExperience building software for highly technical users — engineers, scientists or data teamsHands-on experience with complex data visualization or real-time, interactive user interfacesAn exceptional eye for UI/UX design, with the taste to make dense simulation workflows feel effortless to use Benefits We're an early-stage deep-tech startup with solid funding and great advisors.
