The company is building AI-powered technology designed to solve complex real-world problems and is expanding its core product and engineering function as it enters its next stage of growth. This is a hybrid position based in Berlin, offering a salary range of €85,000 to €125,000, depending on experience and technical background. Our hiring partner will contact selected candidates directly to discuss next steps. ⸻ Build the Next Generation of AI Products We are looking for experienced Software Engineers who want to work at the intersection of software engineering, artificial intelligence and product development. You will join a highly technical team building and scaling AI-powered products, infrastructure and platforms, with the opportunity to influence architecture, engineering standards and product direction as the company grows. The role is particularly suited to engineers who enjoy working in fast-moving environments where they can take ownership of meaningful technical problems rather than working within a narrowly defined engineering function. Depending on your experience, your work may span backend engineering, distributed systems, AI infrastructure, APIs, data pipelines, product development and cloud architecture. ⸻ The Role As a Software Engineer, you will work closely with the company's engineering, AI and product teams to design, develop and scale its core technology platform. You will be responsible for building reliable production systems while helping the company rapidly experiment with and deploy new AI capabilities. Typical Responsibilities Design, build and maintain scalable production software and AI-powered applicationsDevelop backend services, APIs and distributed systemsWork closely with AI and machine learning engineers to integrate models into production productsBuild infrastructure supporting AI workloads, data pipelines and model-driven applicationsDevelop new product features from initial concept through to productionImprove platform reliability, scalability, performance and observabilityContribute to architectural and technical decisionsWrite maintainable, well-tested and production-ready codeParticipate in code reviews and help establish strong engineering practicesIdentify technical bottlenecks and improve existing systemsWork collaboratively with product, engineering and leadership teamsEvaluate emerging AI technologies and determine how they can be incorporated into the platformHelp shape the engineering culture as the company and team continue to scale⸻ What We're Looking For Requirements will depend somewhat on your engineering specialisation, but strong candidates will typically bring several of the following: Strong professional experience in software engineeringExperience building and maintaining production-grade applications or platformsExcellent understanding of software engineering fundamentalsExperience designing APIs, backend services or distributed systemsStrong experience with modern programming languages and development frameworksExperience working with databases, cloud platforms and modern infrastructureUnderstanding of system architecture, scalability and performanceExperience working in agile or fast-moving product environmentsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with other engineersComfortable taking ownership of technical projects from idea through to productionStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience working with AI, machine learning infrastructure, LLM applications, agentic systems, data platforms or AI-enabled products would be particularly valuable.
