Our platform provides access to more than 3 million hotels and 1 million activities and experiences worldwide. We are also developing our own trip-planning technology to help travellers build and personalise their journeys. We are looking for a motivated Software Development Intern to join our development team in Nepal. The role is primarily focused on backend development, with opportunities to support the development of our future Flutter mobile application. What you’ll work on * Build and improve backend features using Python, Django and Django REST Framework * Design, develop and integrate RESTful APIs * Support GraphQL API integrations where required * Work with PostgreSQL databases, data models and queries * Integrate hotel, activity, payment, mapping and other third-party APIs * Support the development of our Flutter mobile application * Convert approved Figma designs into responsive and user-friendly interfaces * Integrate Firebase services and authentication * Debug issues across development and production environments * Improve application performance, reliability and security * Write clean, reusable, maintainable and documented code * Use Git and GitHub to collaborate with the development team * Participate in code reviews, testing and technical discussions * Support deployment and CI/CD processes Required foundational skills Backend development: * Python * Django or Django REST Framework * PostgreSQL or another relational database * RESTful API development and integration * Authentication and authorisation * Database design and basic query optimisation * Basic understanding of clean and scalable application architecture * Good debugging and problem-solving skills Flutter development: * Dart and Flutter * Basic knowledge of state management using BLoC, Provider, Riverpod or GetX * RESTful or GraphQL API integration * Responsive mobile UI implementation * Ability to implement approved Figma designs * Basic Firebase knowledge * Basic understanding of Android and iOS platforms Development tools: * Git and GitHub * Postman or a similar API-testing tool * Familiarity with debugging and performance tools * Ability to write clear technical documentation Preferred skills You do not need to have all these skills, but experience in any of the following will be beneficial: * GraphQL * AWS, including EC2, S3, RDS or Lambda * Typesense or another search engine such as Elasticsearch, OpenSearch or Meilisearch * Redis * Docker and Docker Compose * CI/CD pipelines * Firebase Firestore * Firebase Authentication * Firebase Analytics * Firebase Crashlytics * Firebase Cloud Messaging * Firebase Cloud Functions * Firebase Performance Monitoring * Native Android or iOS development * Automated testing * Swagger or OpenAPI documentation * Experience integrating travel, booking, mapping or payment APIs * Background jobs, queues and caching * XML knowledge - helpful but not mandatory Who should apply?
