About The Role We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer specializing in PHP and Laravel to join our digital development team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in building and maintaining our new digital platform, contributing to the creation of a modern, scalable, and high-performance system landscape from the ground up. Your responsibilities will include developing backend solutions, designing APIs, and integrating various services to support our digital initiatives. You will work closely with cross-functional teams such as Product Owners, UX designers, DevOps engineers, and QA specialists to ensure the delivery of high-quality digital products. This position offers an excellent opportunity to influence the architecture, standards, and processes within our engineering environment, utilizing the latest tools and technologies to optimize productivity and product quality. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess relevant professional experience in software development, particularly within digital platforms or technology-driven growth companies. Strong expertise in modern PHP frameworks, API design, and software architecture is essential. Experience with scalable web applications, cloud environments, and DevOps practices such as CI/CD, containerization with Docker, and orchestration with Kubernetes is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of clean code principles, testing methodologies, performance optimization, and maintainability. Proficiency in modern development tools, including GitLab or GitHub, Azure Cloud, and automation pipelines, is required. Additionally, excellent communication skills in both German and English, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are critical for success in this role. Responsibilities Contribute actively to the development and architecture of our new digital platform, ensuring a robust and scalable system foundation.Develop performant, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions utilizing PHP and Laravel frameworks.Manage the entire development lifecycle, from technical conception and implementation to testing, deployment, and ongoing operation.Collaborate closely with Product Owners, UX teams, DevOps, QA, and other stakeholders to develop high-quality digital products that meet business needs.Bring innovative ideas for improving architecture, development standards, and engineering processes to enhance overall efficiency and quality.Ensure high software quality through automated testing, rigorous code reviews, and adherence to best practices.Develop and optimize interfaces, services, and integrations within our platform ecosystem.Leverage modern AI-supported development tools to continuously improve productivity, quality, and speed of delivery.Take ownership of your solutions, think beyond your immediate tasks, and provide pragmatic, solutions-oriented support to colleagues.Utilize your technical expertise to implement REST APIs, manage containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes, and deploy applications via CI/CD pipelines.
